Lesson by Rebecca, Spiritual Warnings & Teaching our Children, Nov 28th

We need to be doing rightous things in life to have the spirit with us, so that we can see and hear it's warnings. Some examples..
Reading the scriptures and discussing them
Praying daily
Sharing our testimony with our spouse, children, families, friends and neighbors
By doing these things you will have the spirit with you and in your home. Not only does the spirit comfort and bring us peace but it protects us from the adversary that is always trying to destroy us as we are Heavenly Fathers children. The Book of Mormon is a precious tool full of warnings for us to learn and to teach our children. When you feel the spirit your children also feel it. Encourage and show your children by example to follow the spirit and receive knowledge. We can't just tell them, we need to show them and do it with them. If we do not teach our children, the world will. Teach them to act, and not be acted apon.

Lesson Ch. 19 Repentance by Hannah Ball

What is sin?
What are some problems that sin causes in our lives?
We are not all perfect and we all make mistakes, but we are blessed to have repentance because of the atonement of Jesus Christ.
Alma 42: 29-30 talks about sin and repentance
There are 7 steps of repentance and they are the same for everyone because we are all equal and no one is better than someone else.
Step 1- Recognize we have sinned and not justify it
Step 2- Feel sorrow and abandon our sins. You can pray for the desire and strength to let it go.
Remember the Lord doesn't want us to despair or become depressed. He wants us to have hope to do better along with our sorrow.
Step 3- Stop our sins
Step4- Confess our sins humbly to the Lord
Step 5- Make restitution, make it right
Step 6- Forgive others and forgive yourself!
Step 7- Keep the commandments of God
Through repentance this is how we experience wonderful joy and become perfect like Christ!

Looking Back & Looking Forward-Lesson by Hannah Nov 7th

How many of you remember the story of Lots wife?
The Lord instructed Lot to flee Sodom and Gomorrah, as they where leaving Lots wife turned back to look at the city she was leaving behind. Because she looked back the Lord turned her into salt. But the most important part is that it wasn't just because she looked back, in her heart she longed to go back. She wasn't willing to follow the Lord and her desires where more important than her Heavenly Fathers.
We are living in the present and preparing for the future. We cannot sit on both sides of the fence, we have to choose the Lords way or the adversaries way. Focusing on the future helps to strengthen our faith and trust in our Father in Heaven. Fear will always keep us from progression, and our purpose here is to progress to return home.
Philippians Ch. 3:13-14
Paul is a great example of faith and moving forward.
If something has been buried in the past, leave it buried. Don't be tied to mistakes, your own and others. It will only cause more frustration and despair. It is required for us to forgive others, even ourselves! Do not dwell on your mistakes, Christ has forgiven you, now you need to forgive yourself. Accept his loving gift to you, know that you are not perfect and you will make mistakes.
Let go of the past, enjoy the present and have hopes and dreams for the future!

Tithing, talk by Bishopric Oct. 31st

Tithing,
As newly married couples it can be a real struggle financially. A lot of us pay for rent, school, bills, children etc. It can be difficult to pay tithing, but in the end it's more difficult not to. The Lord blesses us immensely when we pay our tithing, it's an amazing thing to experience that trust and bond with your Heavenly Father. Paying our tithing is showing the Lord our faith and obedience.
What are some of the blessings you have received from paying your tithing?
Have you also seen others blessed by paying theirs?
As we have faith and do this it opens a window for our Father to bless us. He has made us promises and he will always fulfill them because he is from everlasting to everlasting.
D&C 119:3-7 Talks more about tithing
